Our Loughton Direct Team Took On Run The Wharf 2026
Last Thursday, the Loughton Direct team took part in Run The Wharf, London’s closed-road night race, right on their doorstep. This year’s event sold out well ahead of race day, with runners and businesses from across the city taking to the closed roads for the evening.
Loughton Direct is the dedicated division of Loughton Contracts, delivering expert cleaning, maintenance and flooring solutions to commercial clients and end users alike. The team isn’t just based at Canary Wharf, either. Many of their clients are residents of the estate too, so race night felt close to home.
Run The Wharf is a 5K run through the streets of Canary Wharf, organised by Friday Night Lights. The route was chip-timed, with lighting and sound set up along the way and a DJ keeping the atmosphere going from start to finish. Instead of medals, finishers were handed a free beer at the line, a nice touch that summed up the mood of the night.
For the team, taking part is about more than the run itself. It’s a chance to bring people together outside of the working day and put some focus on health and wellbeing across the business.
Once the running was done, the evening carried on with an after-party in Canada Square Park, running through to 11pm with food, drinks and music for runners and supporters.
Well done to everyone who took part and represented Loughton Direct on the night. It was a good way to close out the summer as a team, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s race.
