Loughton Contracts were appointed by ISG, to supply and install all floor coverings to the UK headquarters of Hogan Lovells, an American-British law firm, located in Holborn, London.
The 12-floor fit out took place with the client in occupation and the main brief for the site team was to enable Hogan Lovells to continue business and operate ‘as usual’ for the duration of the works.
The £1.1 million refurbishment included installations of Amtico, Bolon and Altro products across 10 different floors. These specific finishes were chosen for areas such as the First Aid Rooms, Kitchen Areas and Tea Points. Floor finishes to these areas needed to be durable, safe and easy to clean.
A softer floor finish was required to other areas. Carpet tiles from Milliken, Shaw and Interface were installed on levels 2 to 10. Open Plan Areas, Meeting Rooms and even special staff Sleeping Pods were furnished with a varied collection of soft floor finishes to aid with acoustics and provide a more relaxed feel.
Engineered timber floor by Havwoods was introduced to reception areas and meeting rooms on 2 different levels. Surface rugs created by Tai Ping were used to enhance breakout areas and dining rooms.
As with most projects, it’s the team were faced with logistical challenges. They had to accommodate deliveries out of hours and a tight programme, made all the more challenging with the building being occupied during the project. Noise levels were also a consideration and certain restrictions were put in place to minimise our impact.
We handed over the finished project to a very happy client, and it is one we are unbelievably proud of.
