New floor finishes were required to a new purpose built office building, spanning over 3 floors of open workspace, offices and breakout areas. Our project team worked closely with architects Atkins Global and the main contractor ISG to install over 6000m2 of new flooring.

Desso Palatino carpet tiles were installed across both levels 1 and 2 of the staff floors. Varying colour pallets were introduced to demark different working areas. The curve details were precision cut using templates to provide seamless transitions without the need for any trims.

Standard 500mm x 500mm square carpet tiles were individually cut by hand, in contrasting colours, to produce a piano key pattern that featured in one of the staff break out areas.

The corridor flooring was installed with bright alternating colours breaking up the main field grey, matching the feature wall panels, each one displaying a well know movie character.

In contrast to the soft floor finishes, engineered timber flooring, manufactured by WFA, was installed on Level 1 and the mezzanine floors. The Oak flooring was produced with a hand sawn surface and finished with a UV oil.

Bespoke access hatches were installed within the timber flooring by our specialist install team. Openings were created using back to back C.A.T. Brass Trims. The trims sat flush with the floors surface and enabled access to the under floor services.

All the finished timber products and plywood sub-floors that were installed are FSC certified, meeting the “gold standard” for ethical production.

Noraplan rubber flooring was supplied and fitted to tea points and break out areas. Prior to install a 6mm FSC plywood sub floor was installed over the raised access floor to create a perfect surface for the finished product.

As part of our drive to be more sustainable we recycled all of our carpet tile waste as part of Desso’s Take Back scheme. Working with our supply chain partner Protec, all floor protection for this project was fully recycled as part of their “Closed Loop” initiative.
