Loughton Contracts were appointed by ISG Major Fit-out to supply and install new floor coverings to the London offices of a huge financial advisory company.
The project consisted of the supply and installation of over 6,000m2 of carpet tiles, 600m2 of timber flooring and 500m2 of LVT.
Timber flooring was a large format herringbone pattern from Havwoods Magna range. With circular design a big consideration the architect went with an adhesive free method of installation. Havwoods Magna range has a magnetic backing and is ideal for installation over metal raised access flooring.
Emphasis was placed on the detail for the timber transitions, with antique brass trims from C.A.T. Accessories being installed to create a flush and stylish junction.
As a twist on traditional signage, brass lettering was routed into the herringbone flooring, to direct people around the building. This was unique and stylish way of incorporating wayfinding into our installation.
Havwoods Magna flooring was also supplied and installed in a plank format to some of the corridor spaces, to break up the herringbone pattern. This was also a magnetic installation, which allowed for individual boards to be removed, giving continuous access to services below the floor.
Over 5,000 m2 of carpet tiles from Desso Tarkett were installed to the office areas across the floors. Open spaces featured inset timber flooring, with antique brass trims. Meeting rooms featured a plank tile from Interface, offering a darker contrast to the main office carpet tile.
Our project team was able to deliver the floor finishes within the challenging construction programme. Attention to detail and trade to trade coordination was key to the successful delivery of this project.
