Loughton Contracts were appointed by Galliford Try Partnerships to assist with the floor finishes on a luxury residential development consisting of 76 high quality apartments and townhouses of which 47 were affordable homes. The striking new building by leading prime residential developers Almacantar, is located just off Edgware Road and is set where Maida Vale, Little Venice and St John’s Wood meet. A sensitive and colourful addition to Edgeware Road it also features the first new petrol station in central London for more than 25 years which is enhanced by three abstracted petrol pumps from the 1930’s.
In the private spec apartments Engineered Oak flooring was installed to the main living spaces. A Havwoods product was chosen and installed by fully bonding the product to the sub-floor. Additional sub-floor preparation was carried out by the install team to ensure the correct surface flatness was achieved.
The town houses featured timber staircases leading to the upper floors. Our specialist timber teams clad each step and riser with timber to match Havwoods timber running through the property. The bedrooms had a broadloom carpet traditionally fitted by our team.
The affordable units had a similar design, utilising a Tarkett engineered Oak 2-strip board throughout. Our fitting teams installed the timber flooring by floating over an acoustic underlay. The bedrooms again featured a neutral coloured broadloom carpet that was traditionally fitted.
